| While teaching the book
of Matthew during a music ministry devotional, I came across this passage:
"Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and
selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and benches of
those selling doves. 'It is written,' He said to them, 'My house will be
called a house or prayer, but you are making it into a den of thieves.'"
(Matthew 21:12-13) We believe that ministry is service. It is our life work to build the kingdom of Christ, edify the body and receive our reward. For this reason, we believe that this verse and many others (Matthew 10:8, Romans 8:32, 2 Peter 2:15-16) encourage us to provide ministry free of charge. While we appreciate, need and thank you for your support, we are willing to provide this work to you free of charge.
"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give." "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?" "...forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet." |
