When did you accept
Christ? Describe your experience with coming to know that Jesus is the Son of
God, deity, Messiah.
I accepted Christ at 7 years old. I had been in church before I could
even walk, so I knew what it meant to believe in God and do church
things. However, one day I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to go to
hell and I asked my mom what I could do to keep that from happening. She
sat me down and took me through the Scriptures and explained to me what it
meant to be saved. It was there in my basement that I accepted Christ
and I have tried to live for Him ever since.
What are your musical
influences?
I am
influenced by all kinds of music. I try not to put myself in a box. I
keep my mind open so that I can expand my tastes and my way of thinking. Of course I love
Gospel, but I am deeply influenced by Jazz as well. I
love listening to Kim Burrell, Karen-Clark Sheard, and Richard Smallwood.
What do you believe
your spiritual gifts are?
I think
that my dominant gift is administration. As an administrator, I have the
Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by organizing,
administering, and promoting.
I also think that I am a
mercy-shower. I have the desire to serve God by identifying with and
comforting those who are in distress. I understand and comfort my fellow
Christian.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies? Wow, I don't know if I have any. I am so busy with school and
school-related activities that all my time goes to that. Yet, whenever I
get a chance, I go bowling. I love to bowl. If I could do it every day, I
would.
Where are you
originally from and where do you currently live?
Chicago, born and raised. I still live in Chicago and I probably will
never move away . . . well, maybe to the East Coast.
Share some personal
information about yourself.
I come
from a small family. I am very close to my mother, stepfather, and
grandmother. I am an only child, and because of this, I have made a lot
of friends, who have become my sisters and brothers.
Describe your
experience with Joshua Jeneration.
The best thing that I enjoy about being with Joshua Jeneration is being
with a group of people who are not afraid to minister and evangelize. It
challenges me to step out of my comfort zone. I also love that Joshua Jeneration is not afraid to express what we believe despite the opposition
or disagreements that we may encounter from non-believers and believers
alike.
What other interesting
information you would like to share?
I don't
consider myself to be that interesting, but currently I am in school
obtaining a second Bachelor's in music education, so that I can teach in
the Chicago Public school system. I am also involved in theater. So, between God, school, Joshua, and theater, I stay pretty
busy. |
